Goshu Kohsan launches business in BD

Goshu Kohsan (Bangladesh) Company Ltd, a Vietnam-based Water and wastewater treatment management company, launched its business in Bangladesh aiming at contributing to sustainable and efficient water purification system here.
“Today we are launching Goshu Kohsan Bangladesh Company Ltd and with the start of our business here, the number of countries that we will be operating in will increase from 5 to 6,” said Dr Hisato Takeda, General Director of Goshu Kohsan (Vietnam) at the launching programme held at a city hotel on Saturday.
“Currently, many special economic zones (SEZ) are being planned in Bangladesh and we hope that along with Japanese companies, other foreign companies will play a significant role in the call to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals,” he said.
“In the field of water treatment we believe that we will be able to contribute to sustainable development and to enable a sustainable and efficient water purification system, we have started construction at the site last month,” he added.
Speaking at the event, Habibun Nahar, Deputy Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, said, “Water is used for different purposes from household works to industrial, scientific and healthcare activities, after which it becomes contaminated and undrinkable.”
“Moreover, the impact of climate change in Bangladesh is an extremely crucial issue as this country is one of the most vulnerable nations that will be impacted by climate change in the coming decades,” she added.
“So, sustainable water management is crucial. Everyone has a role to play at the industrial and household level,” she said.
The company has more than 40 years of experiences and significantly contributed to the economies of Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia respectively by installing ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) and WTP (Water Treatment Plant) in the Industrial Parks, Economic Zones and factories over there.
Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) Executive Member Mohammed Erfan Sharif and DCCI former president Shams Mahmud, among others, were present.
