‘Everything, Everywhere, All at Once’ dominating Oscars, Michelle Yeoh makes history, ‘RRR’ wins big
As the champagne-coloured carpet was laid, the Oscars kicked-off at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre, earlier Sunday. The 95th Oscar Awards witnessed the epic win of ‘Everything, Everywhere, All at Once’ (EEAO), as the movie bagged seven Oscars in the categories of ‘Best Actress,’ ‘Best Director,’ ‘Best Supporting’ roles, ‘Best Editing,’ ‘Best Film,’ and ‘Best Screenplay.’
Brendan Fraser made a career comeback with ‘The Whale,’ which won the ‘Best Actor’ award, while Michelle Yeoh (‘Everything Everywhere, All at Once’) made history at the Oscars by becoming the first Asian-actress to capture the ‘Best Actress’ award. SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ won its first Oscar for ‘Naatu Naatu’ in the ‘Best Original Song’ category. Deepika Padukone introduced the song, which was performed by dancers who paid tribute to the song. The ‘Naatu Naatu’ performance received a standing ovation from those in attendance.
