Schoolgirl murdered in Sylhet

The blood-stained body of a female student was recovered from an under-construction building at Osmani Nagar upazila in Sylhet on Thursday morning.
The deceased is Deepa Rani Singha, 14, a class eight student of Mangalchandi High School at Tajpur under the Osmani Nagar upazila, and daughter of Pijosh Chandra Singha of Tolagram at Barura upazila in Comilla, police said.
The victim’s father is a businessman, and he, along with his family, has been living in a rented residence in the Tajpur area, the police said.
Quoting the victim’s parents, Osmani Nagar police station officer-in-charge SM Mayeen Uddin told that they started searching for Deepa at about 6:00am in and around the building after not seeing her in her bedroom.
At one stage, they found her blood-stained body lying on the floor of an under-construction one-storey building adjacent to their residence, said the OC.
