Sylhet City BNP biennial confce held: Nasim President, Emdad Secretary

Nasim Hossain and Emdad Hossain Chowdhury have been elected President and General Secretary respectively of Sylhet City BNP.
Besides, Syed Safeq Mahbub has been made Organizing Secretary.
Election Commissioner ATM Faiz Ahmad announced the results at night after the counting of votes started from noon on Friday (March 10).
The elected President Nasim Hossain got 1066 votes while rival Miftah Siddiqui got 776 votes.
Emdad Hossain Chowdhury got 1058 votes for the post of General Secretary. His rival Farhad Chowdhury Shamim got 772 votes.
Besides, Organizing Secretary Syed Safeq Mahbub was elected by getting 650 votes. Abdullah Shafi Saeed got 442 votes, Mustafa Kamal Farhad 109, Rezaul Karim Nachan got 623 votes among the remaining three candidates for the post of organizing secretary.
 Earlier, at 9:30 am, Sylhet city BNP conference was inaugurated by the party’s General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The first session of the conference ended at 12:30 pm. After that, the council session started in the second phase at 2 pm. In this, 1 thousand 917 councilors of 71 of each ward of the old 27 wards of the city took part in direct voting in the leadership election of BNP in the city.
