Country’s third best Upazila Chairman Shafi Ahmed Solman

Principal AKM Shafi Ahmed Solman, Chairman of Kulaura Upazila has been nominated as the country’s third best upazila Parishad Chairman.
In recognition of special contribution to primary education he has achieved the National Primary Education Medal- 2022 . He is in the third position in the upazila chairman category in the primary education medal award 2022 list of the Directorate of Primary Education.
Before that, Shafi Ahmed was nominated as the best upazila chairman of Moulvibazar district in September 2022 and Sylhet division in October of that year.
He has taken various development plans including ensuring free coloring books for students, distribution of school dress, sports materials, construction of school academic buildings, internet connection. As a result, the rate of student failure in the upazila has come down to zero. Hundreds of schools have laptops, modems, internet facilities.
Also Principal AKM Shafi Ahmed Solman, is the Senior Vice-President of Kulaura Upazila Awami League, Editor and publisher of Kulaura’s popular weekly `Kulaura Dak Patrika’ and has been serving as the principal of Kulaura’s renowned Educational institutions Shahjalal Ideal International School and College.
Previously, he ahs served as the chairman of Kadipur Union Parishad for 19 years in the 3rd term from 1997 to 2015 and was elected chairman of Kulaura upazila parishad.
