International Women’s Day celebrated

The International Women’s Day was celebrated on Wednesday with procession, rally and discussion meeting held in Barishal with the theme Digital: Innovation and technology for gender equality.
The district administration and women affairs directorate and different development organizations jointly and separately observed the day calling for keeping the slogan of digital technology and innovation for eliminating gender discrimination.
On the occasion of the Day, Deputy Commissioner Jahangir Hossain inaugurated the programmes of the day with colorful rally by flying a balloon with festoon. Then the colorful procession took off from the premises of the divisional museum at Barishal moving on important roads of the city, ended at the district commissioner’s office.
There Divisional Commissioner Amin ul Ahsan as the chief guest participated in the discussion meeting chaired by deputy commissioner Jahangir Hossain at the conference room of the deputy commissioner to celebrate the day.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Saiful Islam , deputy director local government Goutam Baroi, deputy director Women Affairs Department Dilara Khanam and others were present as special guests in the discussion meeting.
Representatives of various public and private institutions including, NGO representatives, teachers, students, parents were present in the programmes.
Sherpur (Bogura) Correspondent reports: Seminar on “Digit-All: Innovation & Technology for Gender Equality” was organized at Rural Development Academy (RDA) on the occasion of International Women’s Day under Sherpur upazila of Bogura on Wednesday. Under the chairmanship of Mr. Khalil Ahmed, Director General (Additional Secretary) of Rural Development Academy, Bogura, Pabna University of Science and Technology Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr.Hafiza Khatun was present as the chief guest on the occasion.
Prof of Computer Science & Engineering Department of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam University presented the main article in the Seminar with the participation of the Faculty members of the Academy and the trainees of various basic training courses.
A, H, M, Kamal and Additional Director General of Rural Development Academy, Bogura & Md. Abdullah Al Mamun and Pabna University of Science and Technology Faculty of Life and Earth Sciences Dean Dr. Md. Rahedul Islam spoke as speakers.
The seminar organized under the initiative of Rural Administration and Gender Department of the academy has been held as the convener and co-convener respectively.Sheikh Mehdi Mohammad, Director (Farm Technology) and Mr. Mazharul Anwar, Joint Director (Rural Administration & Gender).
Besides, a colorful rally has been organized on the theme of International Women’s Day of the seminar.& a four-day long fair has been organized with the participation of local women entrepreneurs.
Kapasia (Gazipur) Correspondent says: A procession and discussion meeting was held on the occasion of International Women’s Day celebration in the Kapasia Upazila Administration and Upazila Women’s Affairs Department of Gazipur with the theme “Digital technology and innovation will eradicate gender discrimination” on Wednesday.
A discussion meeting was held in the meeting room after the procession at Kapasia Upazila Parishad .
Kulaura (Moulvibazar) Correspondent adds: A colorful procession and discussion meeting was held and 44 women representatives were felicitated on occasion of the International Women’s Day in Kulaura with the slogan ‘Digital technology and innovation, gender discrimination will end organized by Kulaura upazila administration on Wednesday.
The rally was started from the District Administration Office and ends at the same place after circling the main main road of the city. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the Zilla Parishad conference room. Under the chairmanship of Upazila Executive Officer Md. Mahmudur Rahman Khondokar and teachers direction of Dilip Dev.
