South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje was released from the squad after experiencing mild groin discomfort during the first Test. After a medical evaluation by the South Africa medical staff, Nortje, who played in the first Test against the West Indies, has been asked to rest. In the Proteas’ 87-run victory over the first game, Nortje picked 5/36 and 1/48. The World Test Championship includes the two-game series, but despite winning the first game, South Africa are no longer in the running for the Ultimate Test, which will be played at the Oval today.
