Sitakunda explosion: Rescue operation over after 22 hours

The rescue operation ended 22 hours after the explosion at Seema Oxygen Plant in Kadama Rasulpur area of Sitakunda.
However, the fire service is not yet sure about the cause of the explosion. The local administration says the explosion may have occurred from
the boiler of the oxygen plant. The police, however, have prepared a case by accusing the authorities of negligence in the case of the explosion.
The police believe that the explosion may have happened due to the negligence of the authorities. Several police teams are investigating the matter at the spot. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sitakunda Police Station Tofail Ahmed told the media that a case will be filed after the preliminary investigation is over.
Meanwhile, a seven-member special investigation committee has been formed on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner to investigate the terrible explosion incident at the Seema Oxygen plant factory in Sitakunda.
The additional district magistrate has been made the head of the probe body. The committee has been asked to submit its inquiry report within seven days.
