DMP arrest 6 over bus-robbery in capital

Cantonment zonal team of Detective Gulshan Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has detained six robbers with weapons in a special operation. They were arrested from different areas of Savar police station on Friday (March 3) night.
The police said that the arrested persons boarded
the bus posing as passengers and took the driver-helper hostage. Later, they pick up passengers from different places as passenger-helper-supervisor. Later they beat them and looted everything.
Dhaka Metropolitan Intelligence Police Chief Additional Police Commissioner Mohammad Haron Or Rashid said these at a press conference organized at DMP’s media center on Saturday (March 4) afternoon.
The arrested persons have been identified as Fakhrul Kabir Shanto (29), Md. Monir Hossain (30), Md. Imran (22), Md. Mujahid alias Babu (28), Md. Rajib alias Asif (21) and Md. Sunny (26).
Three (3) mobile phones along with domestic weapons used in robbery were also recovered from them.
During the initial interrogation, the arrested persons admitted that they are active members of the inter-district robbery gang. They got into the bus with the help of each other and took the driver-helper hostage and completed the robbery in the bus.
