5 held with arms, ammunition in Khagrachhari

Members of the Bangladesh Army detailed five people and impounded a number of arms and ammunition during a special drive in Khagrachhari’s Guimara upazila on Saturday.
Based on secret information, the drive was conducted in Bottola and South Kanchan Nagar, said a press release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)
An AK-47 rifle (seven rounds of ammunition and 1 magazine), one M1 rifle (magazine filled with 24 rounds of ammunition), one AK-22 rifle (approximately 200 rounds of ammunition), four mortars, one 7.65 mm pistol, one LG long barrel rifle and a large quantity of IED equipment and used uniforms were also recovered in the drive.
The detainees and seized weapons were handed over to the police after the necessary procedures by the Bangladesh Army.
As of now, the security forces are in charge of the place’s security.
