Police constable found dead in Mymensingh

Police recovered the body of a constable from a Mahogany plantation in Mymensingh’s Nichkolpa area on Saturday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Saddam Hossain, 27, son of freedom fighter Rezaul Karim of Bagerkanda area.
Saddam was posted at the Police Lines in Sunamganj and recently came home on leave, said police.
Quoting family members, Md Shahinul Islam, additional superintendent of Police of Mymensingh Sadar Circle, said Saddam went out after dinner around 10:00pm on Fridayt night and did not return home.
Around 3:00pm on Saturday, a woman discovered the body and informed locals.
On information, police went to the spot and retrived the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, said the ASP.
There were signs of injury marks on his throat and he might have been strangulated, suspected the ASP.
