BNP made evil efforts to create unrest even in neighboring country: Hasan

City Desk :
Terming BNP as a terrorist organization, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said BNP was involved in evil efforts to create unrest even in India by smuggling ten-truck arms.
He said this on the twenty-fourth instant while replying to a query from reporters at Chattorgram circuit house before joining a development co-ordination meeting organized by Chattogram district administration .
Hasan, also Awami League Joint General Secretary, said after forming government Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had announced that any evil efforts of creating unrest in any neighboring country using the land of Bangladesh will not be tolerated.
That is why smuggling and arms smuggling have been stopped entirely, he said.
He said last year he visited Eastern states of India. During the BNP tenure, arms were smuggled under the patronization of Hawa Bhaban and Tarique Rahman but such incidents are not taking place now, reports BSS.
“For this reason, Assam’s chief minister extended gratitude to me,” he said.
About BNP’s demonstration programme at district level and AL’s peace rally on Saturday, the AL joint general secretary said AL is not announcing any counter programme.
Those who earlier killed people by carrying out arson attacks in the name of politics and torched people’s property, they can do such acts again, he said.
This time in their previous programme, BNP torched vehicles and carried out attacks on AL’s peace rally, he mentioned.
“As the ruling party, it is our responsibility to stand beside the people so that none can destroy the country’s law and order,” he added.
Later, the Information Minister joined the development co-ordination meeting of Chattogram district administration as the chief guest.
