Sourav Ganguly in Dhaka

Former president of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and former captain of India Cricket team Sourav Ganguly arrived in Dhaka on Thursday. Sourav Ganguly, the ‘Prince of Kolkata’ reached Dhaka to inaugurate the Mayor Cup. The inaugural ceremony of the Mayor Cup of the Dhaka North City Corporation was held at Hotel Westin yesterday and Sourav Ganguly inaugurated the Mayor Cup as the chief guest.
Later, Sourav Ganguly took part in a function of ICICI Bank held at the InterContinental Hotel in Dhaka.
Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Md. Atiqul Islam said, ” I am giving thanks to Sourav Ganguly as he did not take any money to inaugurate the Mayor Cup. He opened the Mayor Cup free of cost. We have arranged the Mayor Cup to battle against the drug. There is no alternative of sports to build the country without drug. We have arranged the Mayor Cup to promote the youngsters and say no to drug and the sports competition is an anti-drug campaign. Sourav Ganguly has chosen this matter.”
