15 .5 lakh children to get vitamin ‘A’ capsules in Kurigram, Rangpur. C’nawabganj, Sylhet, Chattogram

The Vitamin A plus capsules will be administered among more than three lakh babies in Kurigram on Monday.
Kurigram Health Department have been targeted to administer vitamin A capsules among 3, 24,660 babies like the country wide programme.
Kurigram Civil Surgeon Dr. Monjur-e-Morshed informed the information while exchanged views with local journalists in his conference room about national vitamin A plus campaign on Saturday.Civil Surgeon told that a decision has been taken to administer national vitamin A capsules on February 20 like the country wide program to prevent blindness for malnutrition and child death due to malnutrition. Consequently, the capsules will be administered among the babies in all the nine upazilas and three municipalities in the district.
The babies’ ages 6-11 months for a blue capsule and 12-59 months for a red capsule will administer from 8.00am to 4.00pm continuously on the day.The number of center are 1878,number of health workers 448, number of Family Planning worker 238,number of voluntary 3070 and number of supervisor 228.
Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Lutfar Rahman, other officers and staff of the Civil Surgeon office and journalists of both electronic and print media have been participated there.
Senior Staff Reporter, Rangpur says: On the occasion of the National Vitamin A+ Plus campaign, 1 lakh 29 thousand children under the age of 6 months to 5 years will be fed vitamin A plus capsules in Rangpur City Corporation (Rasik) area on February 20.
Chief Executive Officer Md. Ruhul Amin Mia gave this information in a press conference held at Rasik conference room on Wednesday morning.
It was informed in the press conference that this time 20 thousand children from 6 months to 11 months will be fed blue colored vitamin capsules and 19 thousand children aged 12 to 59 months will be fed red colored vitamin capsules. For this reason, 33 first-line, 7 second-line, 4 third-line supervisors and 594 health workers and volunteers will be engaged in feeding vitamin A capsules from 8 am to 4 pm through 297 centers in 33 wards of Rangpur City Corporation.
Chief Executive Officer Md. Ruhul Amin Mia also said that if a child complains that the child is nauseous or harmed by consuming vitamin “A” capsules, as a journalist you will be the first to reassure the parents and advise the parents not to panic and take them to the nearest health center if necessary. Rangpur City Corporation Revenue Officer Jayashree Rani, Chief Health Officer Dr. Kamruzzaman Ibn Taj, Head of Health and Sanitary Inspector Abdul Qayyum, Administrative Officer Naeem ul Haque were present.
Chapainawabganj Correspondent reports: A total of 2,18,071 children would be administered Vitamin A Plus in Chapainawabganj district during the Vitamin A Plus campaign on 20th of this month.
According to the Chapainawabganj Civil Surgeon office sources, in all the five upazilas of the district the campaign would start at 8 am and continue till 4 pm in 156 centres.
The sources added that 1,91,614 children from 12 to 59 months would be given red coloured capsules and 26,457 children from six to 11 months would be given blue coloured capsules. Civil Surgeon Dr. SM Mahmudur Rashid said, Vitmin A helps children in their proper development, increases their protective powers against diseases and also reduces the risk of death.

Chattogram Bureau adds: The Vitamin-A plus campaign will start in 15 upazilas of Chittagong on February 20(tomorrow). In this year’s campaign, the target of feeding vitamin A capsules to 8 lakh 4 thousand 564 children in Chittagong district has been set.
This information was given in the district level journalist orientation workshop in the conference room of the Civil Surgeon’s office on Thursday (February 16) afternoon.This campaign will be conducted in 600 wards of 200 unions of 15 upazilas. In this, 91 thousand 918 children aged 6 to 11 months and 7 lakh 12 thousand 646 children aged 12 months to 59 months will be fed vitamin-A capsules.
