Body of new born baby recovered

Mongla PS has recovered a dead body of a new born male baby rapped with a polythin paper from the mouths of dogs on the bank of Mongla-Ghasiakhali Bangabandhu international canal near the Labour Jetty Ghat-1 in Mongla Port town under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district in the early morning of Saturday. The recovered dead body was sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Police informed that in the morning at about 6 am some locals found the dead body (rapped with polythin paper) was being tugged by some dogs on the bank of the canal and one of the hands was detached from the body. Then they informed the police of Mongla PS of the matter through Shariful Islam, a Counselor of the Ward No. 5 of Mongla Pourashava. Being informed of the matter police rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the mouths of dogs. It is guessed by the police and the locals that the dead body was, perhaps, left there by some one in the early hours without the knowledge of any body else.
