Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan left the city for Pakistan on Monday night to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), a franchise-based T20 Cricket Tournament. Shakib will play for Peshawar Zalmi.
Earlier, Shakib Al Hasan was scheduled to go to the United States of America (USA) to spend his time with his family. Fortune Barishal failed to reach the final of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket as they lost to Rangpur Riders by four wickets in their match of the eliminator phase at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on February 12. Shakib Al Hasan was the Captain of Fortune Barishal. After that, the left-arm all-rounder changed his decision and went to Pakistan to take part in the PSL for Peshawar Zalmi. Peshawar Zalmi directly picked up Shakib Al Hasan to play in PSL for their team.
The left-arm all-rounder showed a superb performance for Fortune Barishal in the Bangladesh Premier League Cricket. He shone with the willow scoring 375 runs including three half-centuries. He shone with the cherry bagging 10 wickets.
Peshawar Zalmi were set to play against Karachi Kings on Tuesday. Shakib would play in the Tuesday’s match. Shakib Al Hasan cannot play in the PSL up to the ending of the tournament.
He will take part in the PSL up to February 26 as the coaching camp of Bangladesh Cricket team is scheduled to start after ending the BPL Cricket marking the upcoming England home series.
The PSL started between the match of Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultan on Monday. Qalanders won the match by one run.
