2 arrested along with stolen copper coils

2 persons were arrested along with the stolen 90 kgs black coal and copper coils (insulated with red cover) stolen from Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Plant at Rampal (under Rampal Upazila) in Bagerhat district from the Zero Point of the Upazila town by the police of Rampal PS in Thursday morning (at 8-00 am), according to a delayed report received here.
It is learnt from the police that acting on secret information a police contingent of Rampal PS conducted a raid at the Zero Point and seized an easy bike along with its driver and a boarder. Later, the police searched the easy bike and recovered the stolen copper coils and coal from it. The arrested persons are identified as Hirok Shaikh (28), son of one Daud Shaikh of village Chandpur within Chandpai Union under the Upazila and Sohag Farazi (23), son of one Habib Farazi of village Kainmari under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district.
In this connection a case was lodged with Rampal PS by Rabindrnath Bera, an officer of the power plant as the plaintiff. It was confirmed by ASI Mithun Kumar Dhali, duty officer of the PS. It may be mentioned here that stealing of copper coils and other valuables materials including machineries of the power plant is almost a regular feature.
