Youth killed in Bangabandhu Bridge East Toll Plaza area

A youth was killed when a car ran over him at the Bangabandhu Setu East Toll Plaza in Tangai on Wednesday at around 1:10 pm on the Dhaka-bound lane, 200 yards away from the toll plaza weight scale. Bangabandhu Setu East Thana Police recovered the body of the young man from the spot after receiving the information.
 Muhammad Shahidul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station confirmed this on Thursday morning. He said that on Wednesday night, an unidentified young man was crossing the road 200 yards away from the weight scale of Bridge East Toll Plaza. Later, when he reached the Dhaka-bound lane, he was hit by an unknown vehicle and died on the spot.
The OC also said that after receiving the news of the accident, the body of the unidentified youth was recovered from the spot and sent to the Sadar General Hospital Morgue in Tangail for autopsy. Police are working to identify the youth. After identification, the body of the youth will be handed over to his relatives after the legal process.
