Sylhet Strikers recorded a massive six-wicket victory over Khulna Tigers in a match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Wednesday.
Sylhet Strikers led the points table collecting 18 points from 12 matches, while Khulna Tigers remained at the bottom position earning four points from 11 matches.
Chasing Khulna’s paltry total of 113 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, Sylhet Strikers sailed home scoring 114 for the loss of four wickets remaining with 15 balls.
Sylhet had a sorrow start as they lost their early two wickets for 10 runs. One-down Zakir Hasan and second-down Mushfiqur Rahim salvaged their team from danger contributing together 90 runs for the third wicket partnership before Zakir Hasan was caught by Nahidul Islam off Hasan Murad when Sylhet’s score was 100 for the loss of three wickets.
