8th convocation of BAU on Feb 12

Some 6, 522 graduates will participate in the 8th convocation of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) on February 12 (Sunday).
The convocation ceremony will be held at the university stadium at 10 am that day. This was announced on last Sunday (February 5) at a press conference held at the office of the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Deputy Director of the Public Relations and Publication Department of the University and member secretary of the Convocation Publicity and Publication Committee, Agriculturist Din Mohammad Dinu were presented. In the written speech at the press conference, Dean Mohammad Dinu said that from July-December 2014 to July-December 2021, a total of 13 thousand 389 students including undergraduates from April 2022 to September 2022 and PhD from 2016 were included in this convocation. A total of 6522 students have completed registration for the convocation. Out of which 56 are PhD students, 1519 are postgraduate students and 4947 are graduate students. A total of 224 people have been nominated for gold medals for the 8th convocation. Out of which 206 people have been nominated at postgraduate level and 18 people at graduate level. Among them, 183 postgraduates and 18 graduates have completed registration for gold medals. A total of 201 people who completed the registration will get gold medals in the convocation. Besides, a total of 50 people have been nominated for graduation awards. Out of which 42 have completed registration.
In the convocation, the President and the chancellor of the university Abdul Hamid will not participate. However, according to his instructions,Minister of Agriculture Md. Abdur Razzaq will preside over the convocation. Education Minister Dipu Moni will be present as the convocation speaker.
