BD storm into final of SAFF U-20 Women’s Champ

Bangladesh Under-20 Women’s Football team stormed into the final of the SAFF Under-20 Women’s Championship thrashing lowly Bhutan Under-20 Women’s Football team by five goals to nil in their last league match at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur on Tuesday.
Bangladesh gained seven points from three matches, while Bhutan remained with naught from as many matches.
Earlier, Nepal confirmed their final berth defeating title aspirants and favourites India by 3-1 goals in their last league match at the same venue.
Nepal collected six points from three matches, while India earned four points from as many matches.Bangladesh will take on Nepal in the final at the same venue on February 9.
Bangladesh led the first half 2-0.
Aklima Khatun of Bangladesh put her team ahead in the 21st minute of the play.
Shamsunnahar Junior made it 2-0 in the 29th minute of the match.
After the interval, Shamsunnahar Junior increased the tally into 3-0 in the 53rd minute of the clash.
Aklima Khatun scored her second goal in the 60th minute of the game.
Shamsunnahar Junior fulfilled her hat-trick in the 61st minute of the match.
Bangladesh made an auspicious start crushing Nepal by 3-1 goals in their first match at the same venue on February 3.
The red-and-green outfit played a goalless draw with India in their second match at the same venue on February 5.
On the other hand, Nepal blanked Bhutan by four goals to nil in their second match at the same venue on February 5.
Minnows Bhutan suffered a 0-12 goals defeat to India in their first match at the same venue on February 3.
Bhutan tasted a 0-4 goals loss to Nepal at the same venue in their second match at the same venue on February 5.
