Asia Cup Cricket to be held in the UAE

The Asia Cup Cricket will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) could not stage any international cricket tournament in Pakistan due to security concern. So, PCB arranged a good number of cricket competitions in the UAE. Besides, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) arranged Indian Premier League (IPL) and T20 World Cup in the UAE as India was busy for their national election and BCCI could not arrange IPL and T20 World Cup in India due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Cricket Sri Lanka arranged the last edition of Asia Cup Cricket in the UAE as the Islanders suffered financial crisis and political instability.
The Asia Cup Cricket of this edition was scheduled to be held in Pakistan. But BCCI refused to send India Cricket team in Pakistan. So, the Asia Cup Cricket will be held in the UAE. The high officials of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) discussed in Bahrain on Saturday night the situation and condition of all about Asia Cup Cricket. The Headquarters of ACC is situated in Bahrain.
It may be mentioned that the Asia Cup Cricket will be held in ODI format marking the next ICC World Cup. The ICC World Cup is scheduled to be held in India in October-November, 2023. The Asia Cup Cricket was scheduled to be held in Pakistan in August-September, 2023. But BCCI acknowledged that it would not send India team in Pakistan. Later, PCB refused to send Pakistan team in India to take part in the ICC World Cup. Thus, the relation between PCB and BCCI has become cold due to those factors.
Secretary of the BCCI Jay Shah and Chairman of the PCB Najam Sethi talked about the arrangement of Asia Cup Cricket. Jay Shah is also the President of ACC.
Meanwhile, some Indian news media reported that the Asia Cup Cricket will not be held in Pakistan. Najam Sethi has accepted that the Asia Cup Cricket will be held in a neutral venue. Jay Shah proposed to stage the Asia Cup Cricket in the UAE. The high officials of the cricket boards of Asia took part in a meeting in Bahrain after Sethi proposed them to discuss about Asia Cup Cricket. The another meeting of ACC will be held in March. In that meeting the officials will be formally announced the name of the venue of Asia Cup Cricket.
