Burnt actress Sharmeen Akhee’s condition deteriorates

Burnt actress Sharmeen Akhee’s condition has
deteriorated. She was shifted to Intensive Care
Unit (ICU) of Sheikh Hasina National Institute
of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Thursday noon.
It was confirmed by Dr Samanta Lal Sen,
Chief Coordinator of the Institute.
Akhee has suffered major burns after an explosion on the shooting set of her upcoming movie.
The promising actress is right now undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. According to a statement released by the hospital, despite their efforts her condition has remained critical.
As per media reports, initially Sharmeen Akhee’s condition improved a bit but soon the plasma count in her blood started to decrease. After her condition turned critical the actress is currently being injected with plasma and currently under observation.
Earlier on, doctors revealed that her condition was critical with almost 35 per cent burns and she was also not responding to treatments.
The actress was immediately shifted to the high dependency unit (HDU).
For the unversed, Sharmeen Akhee suffered a seriously injury when an explosion in the make-up room of a shooting location in Mirpur started massive fire on the set.
Several parts of Akhee’s body, including her hands, legs and hair were burnt in the explosion. Even her respiratory track suffered severe burn. Those who were present at the shooting location have said that the fire started after a short circuit. The 27-year-old actress, who has been acting for last 12 years, first acted in a movie titled ‘Iti Tomar e Dhaka’ in 2018.
In last year, in a web series titled ‘Boli,’ Akhee’s acting in role of a prostitute attracted the viewers’ attention.
Sharmeen Akhee was brought up in Chattogram. She got her first training in acting from theatre group, Arindom Natya Sampraday in Chattogram. Under this theatre group, she got appreciation from the audience for playing the role ‘Boshonto’ based on Tarashankar Bondyopadhyay’s novel ‘Kobi.’ Then Akhee became interested to acting.
