Hathurusingha Head Coach of BD Cricket team

Chandika Hathurusingha is the Head Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team. A BCB source confirmed this information on Tuesday. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will sign an agreement with Chandika for two years. There was a rumour that Chandika will be the Head Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team. Earlier, Hathurusingha was the Head Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team. He had started as Head Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team from May of 2014 and acted until 2017.
Chandika was the Assistant Coach of New South Wales team of Australia. He resigned from that post recently. After that it is almost confirm that he will join Bangladesh Cricket team as the Head Coach.
It may be mentioned that before acted as the Head coach of Bangladesh Cricket team for the first time the Sri Lanka-born cricketer was also the Assistant Coach of New South Wales team.
Earlier, Chandika submitted his resignation letter to the BCB after Bangladesh Cricket team finished their South Africa tour in 2017. Then, he joined the Head Coach of Sri Lanka Cricket team. He got a handsome money after he was acting as the Head Coach of his country’s team.
But his assignment as the Head Coach of Sri Lanka Cricket team was not concluded with a happy note. He had a conflict against the officials of Sri Lanka Cricket and also the players of Sri Lanka Cricket team. Thus, he quitted from his post.
Bangladesh Cricket team had some remarkable success under the supervision of Chandika as the Head Coach. In the year of 2015, Bangladesh won against Pakistan, India and South Africa in ODI series. Bangladesh also played in the quarter-final of ICC World Cup 2015 under his supervision as a Head Coach.
Besides, Bangladesh recorded wins in the Test matches against England, Australia and Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, Hathurusighe said he was excited at the prospect of returning to Bangladesh cricket: “It’s an honour to have been given this opportunity to coach the Bangladesh national team once again.
“I really loved the warmth of the people and the culture of Bangladesh whenever I have been there. I’m looking forward to working with the players once again and enjoy their successes.”
BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury has welcomed the New Head Coach who replaces South African Russell Domingo: “Chandika’s experience and knowledge of Bangladesh cricket will be an advantage for him and will benefit the players. He is a proven tactician and we have seen his impact on the national team during his first assignment.”
