AFD hosts documentary film screening, book presentation

Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) hosted a documentary film
screening and book presentation titled ‘Dance India Today’ by
Annette Leday and Cyrille Larrieu on Saturday at its auditorium
in the capital’s Dhanmondi area, said a press release.
Dancer, choreographer, director and translator Annette Leday and Cyrille Larrieu, film director from France, presented their book
and film titled ‘Dance India Today.’
They expand on the survey on Indian contemporary dance,
conducted by Annette, just before the Covid lockdowns. She conducted a series of interviews in India, with dancers and choreographers
of contemporary and classical backgrounds. Along with Cyrille Larrieu, a film was eventually made that includes excerpts of interviews alternating with images of work and teaching as well as extracts of their creations. It presents some of the faces engaged in a renewal of the traditions and artists of the new generation open to the world and to its many body and dance techniques. The screening was followed by an interactive session with Annette Leday and Cyrille Larrieu.
