Five thousand people employed in Ishwardi footwear factory

One of the largest footwear factories of the country has been established in Ishwardi. RRP Group is establishing this largest industrial plant in Rajshahi division. It has been built by ‘RRP Footwear & Leather Goods Ltd.’ in Muladuli Union of Ishwardi on about one hundred bighas of land.
 The factory will manufacture shoes-sandals along with wallets, belts, ladies’ purses and bags and products in the leather-synthetic category. It will be officially inaugurated on Sunday, January 15 with the aim of exporting the products produced in this factory to various European countries including Japan, India, USA, Canada. The construction of this factory will generate a huge amount of foreign exchange besides providing employment to many unemployed people of the local population. Which will help the domestic economy prosper and increase the revenue income, said the entrepreneurs.
General Manager (Operation) of the factory Gopal Kanti Barua said that the factory aims to produce 5,000 leather shoes, 12,000 non-leather shoes, 1,000 belts, 500 wallets, 300 ladies bags and other leather-synthetic products. Skilled artisans have already been appointed to produce 100% quality products. He said that five thousand workers will be appointed in this factory in stages.
The senior manager of the factory (merchandising and planning) Tawhidul Islam Taj said that the first phase of recruitment of about 2 thousand 500 workers is starting. It will be increased gradually. The workers inside the facilities are ensured according to the labor laws. Dormitory for staff accommodation, fire safety assurance, medical, child care facilities along with payment of salary by 5th of the month.
Mansoor Alam, managing director of RRP Group, said that many local people will be employed in this company. Foreign exchange earned by exporting goods abroad will help the domestic economy prosper and increase revenue.
