3 dead as train rams into auto-rickshaw in Tangail

At least three passengers including a childof a battery run auto-rickshaw were killed by a train at an unprotected railway crossing in Dapakandi area of Bhuiyapur upazila of Tangail district.Besides,five more passengers were critically injured in this connection.
The accident took place on Wednesday around 12.30pm.
The deceased were identified as Laboni, 25, wife of one Alamgir Hossain, Humayun, 40, son of Tula Mia, Jannati, 2, daughter of one Shonjab Ali. They all are the inhabitants of Agterillah village of the upazila.
Local and witness said that a battery run auto-rickshaw collided with a local commuter train at Depakandi rail way crossing area bound for Jamalpur from Bangabandhu East Railway Station. At that time, the train drag the auto-rickshaw near about half a kilometre on rail line leaving three dead on the spot. Later on, local rescued
 the injured and sent them in Bhuiyapur upazila Health complex.
Confirming the incident Faridul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhuiyapur Police Station said that the accident took place due to a collision between a train and an battery run auto-rickshaw at Depakandi around 12.30 pm. On information police rushed to the spot and recovered the dead bodies and sent them to hospital morgue.
He also added that the dead bodies will be handed over to their families after completing all legal producers.
