Coast Guard seizes 3,500 kg of illegal jelly-pushed prawns

Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized 3,500 kg of illegal jelly-pushed prawns from Keranigonj of Dhaka on Wednesday.
“Getting information, we have conducted raid and seized 3,500 kg of illegal jelly-pushed prawns from a area near Dhaleswary Bridge, Keranigonj in the early morning at 4:00am,” Lt. Commander Abdur Rahman (Media Officer) of BCG told the journalists.
He said that Coast Guard Pagla Station Commander Lieutenant Shams Sadekin Nirnoy led the raid.
The Coast Guard searched two Khulna to Chittagong bound trucks and buses and seized the jelly pushed prwan.
The BCG however, did not get the real owners of the prawn and as such no one could be arrested.
Md. Selim Reza, Senior Fisheri Officer of Keranigonj Upazila was also present during the raid.
Later, the jelly pushed prawn has been burned in the presence of BCG station commander and the Senior Fisheri Officer of Keranigonj Upazila.
