Condolence book opens at SCBA in honor of Khandker Mahbub

A book of Condolence has been opened at the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Monday to pay tributes to its former President Khandker Mahbub Hossain, a veteran jurist who died on December 31 in 2022.
Members of the ‘Khandker Mabbub Hossain and Associates’, Golam Kibria, Khandker Shoaib, Humayun Kabir Monju, M Masud Rana and Mustafizur Rahman, opened the book.
Md Momtazuddin Fakir, President of the SCBA, was the first to sign the book of Condolence opening at the Supreme Court Bar Association building. In it he wrote, “Khandker Mahbub Hossain was one of the pioneers of the legal arena of the country.
Through his legal works, the state, lawyers and many common people have been benefited.”
SCBA Secretary Abdun Nur Dulal also signed in the book following his President. After that, other lawyers expressed their respect, love and memory towards their beloved person Khandker Mahbub Hossain in the condolence book.
Barriser Kayser Kamal, central Secretary General of the Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum, a platform of the pro-BNP lawyers, said, “Khandker Mahbub Hossain was a priest of democracy. On the eve of his death, even in his old age, he participated in the movement to restore democracy and went to jail. He always tried to restore democracy and rule of law in the country.”
The lawyers then held a doa mahfil and prayed for the peace of the departed soul of Khandker Mahbub Hossain. Lawyers Md Momtaz Uddin Ahmed Mehedi, Shah Monjurul Hoque, Abed Raza, Shishir Mohammad Manir, Masud Rana, among others, were present at the occasion.
Eminent jurist and former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association Khandker Mahbbub died at a hospital in the capital on December 31 in 2022. He was 84.
Khandker Mahbub, also a vice-chairman of the BNP, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Evercare Hospital. He had been suffering from different health complications. Khandker Mahbub left behind his wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of admirers to mourn his death.
