Step-mother gets life-term for killing minor boy

A court here Sunday sentenced a step-mother to life-term imprisonment in the minor boy murder case.
The court also fined her Taka 20,000, in default, she has to serve another six months in jail.
The convict was identified as Nasima Khatun, 36, daughter of Ustar Mridha of Charvabanipur village under Kumarkhali upazila of the district.
Kushtia district and senior sessions judge Tajul Islam handed down the verdict in presence of the convict.
According to the prosecution, Nasima Khatun killed minor boy named Shahin, 5, through feeding rice mixed with poison on September 21, 2008. Later, Badsha, father of Shahin, filed a murder case with Khoksha thana.
