Cold wave: Jashore, Chuadanga record lowest temperature at 7.8 degree C

A mild cold wave has been sweeping over the country for the last several days which the meteorologists said may be continue more days.
Meanwhile, Jashore and Chuadanga districts recorded lowest temperature of 7.8 degree Celsius on Sunday, which were 8.4 on Saturday.
Both the districts have been shivering with lowest mercury in the country for the fourth consecutive day. Besides, the district has been recording the lowest temperatures over the last three days.
Md Bazlur Rashid, a meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said it. The shivering cold is causing immense sufferings for low-income group of people as they are being forced to stay home without earning a single penny.
Cold weather is disrupting day-to-day life and the poor are the worst sufferers. Apart from these, the poor people are also on suffering acutely due lack of worm cloths.
Most of the poor people across the country are in peril in this cold wave due to wants of the worm cloths.
Our correspondents from different districts said the day labourers are in serious inhuman condition during the cold wave as they failed to get food while suffering from this extreme weather with very little cloths to protect them from acute cold wave.
Besides, the cold related diseases also increased among those people. The hospitals in different districts including Chuadanga are overwhelmed with patients with cold-related diseases.
Due to the downtrend in the temperature, the people of char areas in 16 rivers including Brahmaputra, Dharla, Teesta and Dudhkumar are facing untold hardness.
On the other hand, the farmers are facing more difficulties to save their cattle and chickens from the acute cold wave. In Sirajgonj and the other districts, the poultry farmers are using electric lamp to produce worm atmosphere for their farm’s chickens.
