BPL Cricket begins today

The Ispahani Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket begins at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur today. Ispahani is the title sponsor of the BPL Cricket. The trophy unveiling programme was held at the same venue on Thursday.
Chattogram Challengers will take on Sylhet Strikers at 2.30pm in the day’s first match, while Comilla Victorians will face Rangpur Riders at 7.15pm in the day’s second match.
Private satellite channel Nagorik Television will telecast the matches live from the arena. It may be mentioned that the Governing Council of BPL could not arrange DRS for the matches of BPL Cricket. The authority could manage ADRS instead of DRS.
A total of seven teams will take part in the ninth edition of BPL Cricket. They are: Chattogram Challengers, Sulhet Strikers, Comilla Victorians, Rangpur Riders, Fortune Barishal, Khulna Tigers and Dhaka Dominators.
The matches of the BPL Cricket will be held at the different venues across the country. The venues are: Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, Sylhet International Stadium and Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
The final of the BPL Cricket will be held on February 16.
The champions of the BPL Cricket will be awarded Taka two crore, while the runners-up of the meet will get Taka one crore.
Besides, the Man of the Tournament will be given Taka ten lakh.
Shavagata Hom will lead the Chattogram Challengers, Imrul Kayes will lead the Comilla Victorians, Nasir Hossain will lead the Dhaka Dominators, Shakib Al Hasan will lead the fortune Barishal, Yasir Ali will lead the Khulna Tigers, Nurul Hasan will lead the Rangpur Riders and Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will lead the Sylhet Strikers.
