Padma Bridge: Toll collection crosses Tk 400 crore mark

After Six months of opening, Padma Bridge has collected as toll a total of Tk 400 crore and some 27,37,590 vehicless from both sides till December 28.
According to Bangladesh Bridge Authority, everyday on an average 14,718 vehicles crossed the bridge from both sides and generates 2.12 crore of revenue daily.The highest toll collected on 8 july , 2022 with the amount of Tk 4,19,39,650.
Meanwhile, The Padma bridge ,the country’s biggest self-financed mega project, was officially inaugurated by the prime minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, on 25 June 2022 and the total cost of the project is Tk 32 thousand 638 crore. The Bridge Division has taken a loan from the Finance Ministry for the construction of the bridge. It is expected, a total of Tk 36,000 crore will be paid in 35 years at 1% interest.
