5760 died in road accidents in 2022: NSC

Nirapad Sarak Chai, a movement for passengers’ safety, has said in a report that about 5070 road accidents happened in 2022 in which about 5760 people died.
In this accidents about 7331 people were injured, it says.
Chairman Actor Ellias Kanchan has reveled this information in a programme titled ‘Presenting the statistics of road accidents in 2022’ in a press conference at Jatiya Press Club on Wednesday.
 Elias Kanchan said that in 2022, there were 256 railway accidents, 270 people were killed and 51 people were injured. There were 77 accidents on the waterway, 204 died, 186 missing and 144 injured.
In 2022, a total of 7024 accidents occurred on road, sea, rail and air routes, 8104 were killed and 9783 were injured. Nirapad Sarak Chai also said that road accidents have increased in the country in 2022 compared to the previous two years.
