Tamim to play in BPL Cricket for Khulna Tigers

Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal will play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket for Khulna Tigers. The BPL Cricket will begin from January 6. The seven teams, which will compete in the BPL Cricket, took part in the practice at BCB-NCA Ground in Mirpur which is adjacent to Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. Khulna Tigers also took part in the full-fledged practice session yesterday.
After the practice session, Head Coach of Khulna Tigers Khaled Mahmud Sujon said to the newsmen, ” Tamim Iqbal is totally okay. He can recover from his injury.”
The ace opener could not play against India in the recently concluded three-match ODI series at home. Tamim, the skipper of Bangladesh ODI Cricket team could not participate in the ODI series due to groin injury.
Tamim Iqbal took part in the net session of Khulna Tigers yesterday. He batted and participated in the practice session.
Later, Khaled Mahmud Sujon said, ” Tamim is recover very well. He is totally recover from his groin injury. He went to Bangkok for his treatment. I think he is totally well. He fully batted in the net in the couple of days. I advised him to go slow. Our first game of BPL Cricket is scheduled to be held on January 7. Today is January 3. We shall play a practice match tomorrow. Tamim Iqbal will bat for some time in that forthcoming practice match. He is totally fit and he is ready to go.”
The participating teams of this year’s BPL Cricket are worried about their foreign recruits as most of them have not yet reached in Dhaka.
Sujon said “All the foreign recruits of Khulna Tigers have not yet joined our outfit. Today a cricketer will arrive in Dhaka. Rest of them will come today or tomorrow.”
