Bangladeshi shot ded by BSF in Lalmonirhat

A Bangladeshi herdsman named Biplab Mia Bipul (22) was killed in firing with the beginning of the year by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) on the Patgram border of Lalmonirhat. The incident took place near Pillar Number 843 of Burimari border of the upazila in the early hours of Sunday (January 1). The deceased Biplab Mia Bipul (22) was the son of one Rashidul Islam from Rahmatpur area of the upazila.
Eyewitnesses said that a group of 8-10 people, including Bipul, entered the Indian soil to bring cows. At that time the BSF personnel on patrol fired four rounds targeting them. Bipul was shot in the chest and fell on the ground. Later, the companions rescued him and
took him to the hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patgram police station Umar Faroq said that the dead body has been taken to the police station. The body is in the process of being sent to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
