The primary school scholarship examination for fifth graders was held across the country after a gap of 13 years.
The examination began at 10 am on Friday and continued till 12 noon. Around six lakh students took part at the examination.
The subjects were Bangla, English, Mathematics and Science on a scale of 100 marks, with 25 marks allotted for each subject.
A total of 82,500 students will get scholarship, of which 33,000 students will receive a talent-pool stipend and 49,500 students for a general stipend if they succeed in the examination.
At least 20 percent of fifth graders in every primary school across the country had been chosen
to take part in the scholarship examination based on their performance in the annual assessments.
However, the Primary Education Certificate examination has not been held for the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Later, the government announced that the test would be scrapped as a new curriculum was on the way.
Later the Primary and Mass Education Ministry decided to take the scholarship examination.
