Orientation held in Tarash

A day-long orientation was held with CMPC and GBV committee members in Baruhas Union Parishad Hall Room on Tuesday. The Project Officer of the Public Development Center Aurobindu Burman has conducted the programme. The orientation was conducted with CMPC and GBV committee members of Baruhas Union under Tarash Upazila to increase awareness, skills and sensitivity about child marriage and human trafficking, Prevention of Child Marriage Act-2017, related laws and enforcement of laws.Baruhas Union Parishad Chairman Md. Moinul Haque was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Also present were teachers, nikah registrars, UP members, secretaries, peer leaders, students, journalists and NGO representatives. The chief guest said in his speech that in the future his union council will free child marriage and also assured cooperation in all activities of USAID’s Fight Slavery and Trafficking-in-Person (FSTIP) activity project implemented by Mass Development Center to prevent child marriage in the union. The project is being implemented in 4 unions of Tarash Upazila with the cooperation of Winrock International and USAID funding.
Wheel chair, crutch distribution

Wheel chairs and crutch were distributed among the persons with disability of Rangpur organised by Community Eye Hospital and funded by Sightsaver on Thursday. The programme was chaired by Faizur Rahman, Assistant Executive Director of Community Eye Hospital. The chief guest Ferdous Alam Mukul, Chairman Community Eye Hospital delivered his speech in the programme. Among others, Masud Rana, District Coordinator, Sightsavers, Zafor Ahmed, Senior Manager and Sheikh Abdul Karim, Inclusion Officer of Community Eye Hospital were present there. The supportive devices were distributed among the 16 persons with disabilities of 16 DPOs. The beneficiaries expressed their happiness with having the devices.
