Seventh grader stabbed to death over free-fire game
Staff Reporter :
A seventh grade school student named Sifat was killed due to the dispute over the password of the mobile game Free-Fire in Bogra. In this incident, his teen age friend was arrested by the police intelligence department from city’s Manipuripara last Tuesday.
After the arrest, chapati and mobile used in the murder were recovered from the accused child.
Superintendent of Police Sudeep Kumar Chakraborty gave this information in a press briefing at his office on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased schoolboy Sifat was the son of one Shah Alam of Bogra’s Noorani Mor area and a class VII student of a local high school.
On December 26 at noon, the police recovered the throat-slit body of the school Sifat from a bamboo garden in Nishchintpur area of Shibganj upazila of Bogra.
According to Police super Sudeep Kumar Chakraborty, victim’s friend (the name of the child has not been disclosed as he is a minor) took the free fire game id and password from Sifat. Then when Sifat asked for the ID and password back, the friend refused to give it back.
Later, Sifat and some of his friends pressured the accused friend and took back the ID and password. After that, Sifat developed a conflict with that friend.
On the afternoon of December 25, Sifat left home for market to repair his elder sister’s mobile phone. When he met that friend on the way, that friend took him to his grandfather’s house in Shibganj’s Nishchintpur area. On reaching there, the two talked about playing free fire games in the Bash Bagan (bamboo bush). Later, when Sifat was about to return home, the friend hit Sifat from behind with a chapati (knife). When Sifat fell on the ground, he held his face, cut his throat and severed the veins of his left wrist. After the murder, the friend left the scene and hid in Dhaka.
Superintendent of Police said that further investigation is going on.
