Old man killed over land dispute in Kapasia

An old neighbor was accused of murdering an old man relating a land dispute in Kapasia Upazila on Saturday. The deceased Motaleb Hossain (65) is a resident of Bhubnerchala village of Sadar Union of the upazila. Motaleb, who was seriously injured in the attack on Saturday morning, died in the hospital at night. When he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 8 pm, the doctor declared him dead. Earlier this incident happened at 10 in the morning at his house.
Kapasia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AFM Nasim said that Motaleb and his neighbors Nurul Islam had been having a land dispute for a long time. Motaleb went to work on the disputed land with his wife and children around 10 o’clock on Saturday morning. On hearing the news, Nurul Islam of the opponent stopped them with his people. This led to an argument between the people on both sides.
