Learning environment disrupted during AL council at DU

DU Correspondent :
The Dhaka University (DU)’s learning environment was stalled for the ruling Awami League and its associated organisations’ national councils held in this month at the city’s Suhrawardy Udyan.
The 22nd National Council of the Bangladesh Awami League was held on Saturday at Suhrawardy Udyan, making the university campus a transport hub.
Hundreds of buses, minibuses and other vehicles carrying AL activists were parked near the TSC, Curzon Hall area, Mall Chattar, Fuller Road and Hazi Mohammad Mohsin Hall playground.
The DU students agitated for spoiling their learning environment and some students also given post on social media to protest and condemn this, saying ‘it’s not a picture of university campus, but it is the biggest transport hub in the country’.
Leaders and activists of different units of the AL and its associated organization carrying banners and festoons have been pouring into Suhrawardy Udyan from different place of the country since morning.
Wearing Panjabi, some with T-shirts and caps, thousands of AL activists crowded the Suhrawardy Udyan and chanting slogans and waving the national and party flags.
Numerous banners, festoons, placards flooded over the council venue. Festival mood was seen among the leaders and activists around the conference.
Seeking anonymity, the students said, “The campus should not be a bus station. But university administration could not take any step to maintain the university’s environment even we could not able to keep our mind in reading for loud sound system.”
DU Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani, however, expressed that there was nothing to worry about.
