Teenager killed after scarf gets stuck with auto’s wheel in M’singh

A teenage girl met a tragic end after her scarf got stuck with wheel of a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Gafargaon upazila of the district on Tuesday evening.
The deceased – Nishitha Aktar, 14, was daughter of Nayon Miah of village Birunia in Bhaluka upazila of the district and a Class IX student of Kandi High School in the area.
Relatives and police said that the victim along with her maternal aunt was going to the house of her maternal grandfather at village Shilasi from village Mahirkharua in Gafargaon upazila.
Her neck’s scarf got stuck with the wheels of the battery-run auto-rickshaw on Asian Highway Road in Dhamail area, leaving her critically injured, they said.
She was taken to Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared her dead.
Nasrin Sultana, a doctor of the hospital, said that the girl died from her injuries before arrival at the hospital.
Faruk Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Gafargaon police station, confirmed the death news.
