15 students feared dead in road accident in Manipur

At least 15 students were feared dead after two buses carrying students lost control in Manipur’s Noney district of India on Wednesday.
The accident took place along Bisnupur – Khoupum Road in Manipur’s Noney district.
According to the reports, the two buses carrying students belonged to Thambalnu Higher Secondary School, Yaripok. The buses were heading toward Khoupum for a study tour.
Although, at least 15 pupils are thought to be dead and numerous others are gravely hurt, the precise number of fatalities is not yet known, reports India Today NE.
The collision reportedly happened close to Longsai Tubung village on the Bishnupur-Khoupum Road.
According to some reports, over 22 people have been brought so far to the hospitals. The official death toll hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Injured students are being brought to Medicity hospital in Imphal. 22 students have been brought so far, as per reports.
Two students lost their lives and more than 30 others suffered severe injuries after a bus carrying 75 children overturned in the Saidabad area of Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj district on Saturday. As per reports, the bus was taking Kanti Devi Janata Vidyalaya students to Mangarh Dham in Pratapgarh. The bus driver reportedly lost control while evading oncoming traffic on the Prayagraj-Varanasi Highway.
As per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report, around 1.73 lakh Indians died in approximately 4.22 lakh traffic accidents in 2021. According to the data, UP reported the highest number of deaths with 24,711, followed by
Tamil Nadu with 16,685. Furthermore, the total number of traffic mishaps in India also went up to 4,22,659 in 2021 from 3,68,828 in 2020.

“These traffic accidents resulted in injuries to 3,73,884 people and 1,73,860 deaths during 2021. Uttar Pradesh (24,711 deaths) followed by Tamil Nadu (16,685 deaths), and Maharashtra (16,446 deaths) have reported maximum fatalities in traffic accidents in the country,” the report stated.
