Bangladesh-India 2nd Test begins today

The second Test match between Bangladesh and India will begin at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur today. The first day of the game starts at 9.30am. Private satellite sports channel T Sports, private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live. Earlier, India defeated Bangladesh by 188 runs in the first Test match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on December 18. The two Test matches are part of ICC World Test Championship.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh and India faced each other in 12 Test matches. Of them, India won 10 Test matches and two match ended in draws.
It may be mentioned that Shakib Al Hasan could not bowl in the second innings of the second Test due to shoulder injury and he bowled just 12 overs in the first innings. Shakib could bat in the both innings of the first Test.
A local website informed he is totally fit and he will play in the second Test. All the players of Bangladesh Cricket team took part in the full-fledged practice session at the ‘Home of Cricket’ on Wednesday.
Pacers Ebadot Hossain and Shoriful Islam were ruled out due to injury. Anamul Haque Bijoy was dropped from the squad. Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed has been included in the squad. If the members of Team Management of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) decide to get him chance to play in the second Test, Nasum may make his debut. Taskin Ahmed and Khaled Ahmed may be the two pacers for Bangladesh team in the second Test.
Bowling Coach of Bangladesh team Allan Donald said, ” Shakib Al Hasan is ready to play and to bowl. The other two spinners ( Taijul Islam, Mehidy Hasan Miraz) who bowled in the Chattogram Test, will also bowl in the second Test. Taskin who could not take part in the Chattogram Test due to injury, he is totally fit and will play in the Dhaka Test.”
