AAJFSS plays vital role to reduce hunger, health issues

The country has been affected by numerous natural calamities, including floods, cyclones, and land erosion in last past decades. However, the recent population census of Bangladesh suggested that the total population reached 165.16 million. With a limited land but doubled population compared to 1971, it’s a tough job to feed every mouth with plenty of food.” The purchasing capacity of our people is increasing and now the whole population is seeking nutritious and value-added food from the consumer market” was saying the Editor-in-Chief of Asian-Australasian Journal of Food Safety and Security (AAJFSS), Prof Dr. S. M. Lutful Kabir, a science communicator, editor and top microbiologist from Bangladesh Agricultural University(BAU), Mymensingh. Prof. Kabir emphasized. Remaining the fixed land area, Bangladesh did a miracle job by feeding doubled population in the last few decades, which can be interpreted as a strong food security measurement by our government.AAJFSS, one of the prestigious journals published by Ebu Press Ltd, was launched in November 2017, and from the beginning, Prof. Dr. S.M. Lutful Kabir managing this international platform as Editor-in-Chief. This journal publishes two issues per year, in May and November respectively. Single-blind peer review, open access to the reader, and a continuous publishing model is the key to the success of this journal. The EiC told us, the publishing platform is indexed by the BanglaJOL, CAB Abstracts (CABI), Crossref, Global Health (CABI), Google Scholar, and World population and food security databases.
A good number of international and native food scientists having doctorate degrees from recognized universities are involved with the journal as editors and with the strong leadership of Prof. Kabir, this journal published 66 scientific articles until December 2022. This journal publishes research, review, and short communication articles with the interest of food safety and security. AAJFSS began using a continuous publication model on July 1, 2022, meaning that as soon as an article is prepared for publication, it will be assigned to an issue online right away rather than waiting for other articles to be completed, allowing for quicker access to the final version.
Prof. Kabir received many awards including this year he won the Global Research Impact Recognition Award 2022 from BAURES for his contribution to the scientific research community, especially in the field of food safety. In order to improve the quality of life for those who live in the most remote areas of the earth, he underlined the need to concentrate on food security and safety.
Prof. Kabir described us, “On 15 November 2022, the world’s population is projected to reach 8 billion people, a milestone in human development. Feeding this enormous number of people might not be easy while food safety comes with security. As safe food with zero hunger is the second SDG goal.” AAJFSS has a profile on Sherpa Romeo, a website that compiles and displays publisher and journal open-access policies from all over the world.
