Shakib takes part in practice session wearing Argentina’s jersey

Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan took part in the practice session wearing Argentina’s jersey at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur on Tuesday. Shakib played football as part of training. He wore jersey Number-10, which is jersey of Argentina’s magician football star Lionel Messi. Messi and his team Argentina clinched the FIFA World Cup 2022 trophy in Qatar on December 18. Argentina won their third World Cup trophy after 36 years. They beat France on penalty shoot out to emerge the champions of the Qatar World Cup 2022.
The left-arm all-rounder, who is the Captain of Bangladesh Test Cricket team came out in the city road wearing Argentina’s jersey after Argentina became champions in the FIFA World Cup 2022 on Sunday last. Thousands of Bangladeshi fans of Argentina celebrated there after their team won the World Cup trophy.
Shakib Al Hasan talked to Batting Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team Jamie Siddons before took part in his warm-up training playing with football at the ‘ Home of Cricket’. Bangladesh Cricket team also participated in their practice sessions at the same venue on the same day.
It may be mentioned that Shakib Al Hasan cannot bowl in the Dhaka Test as he has injury on his shoulder. The second Test between Bangladesh and India will be held at the SBNCS from December 22 to December 26.
Earlier, Shakib Al Hasan could bowl in the first innings of the Cahttogram Test for just 12 overs. He did not get any wicket. Later, he could not bowl in the second innings. The left-arm batter scored only three runs in the first innings playing 25 deliveries. He could not bowl in the second innings of that match.
But Shakib played a captain’s knock of 84. He struck six sixes and six fours in his 108-ball second innings.
However, Bangladesh tasted a bitter 188-run defeat to India in the first Test. Though Bangladesh showed a better brand of batting in the second innings.
