MD’s corruption ruining PDBF, employees allege

The Managing Director Moududur Rashid Safdar is destroying the Palli Daridro Bimochon Foundation (PDBF) by doing huge corruptions, alleged its dismissed officers and employees.
The tortured and dismissed officers and employees said in a press conference that the organisation is being ruined day by day by embezzlement of fund the illegally appointed MD Moududur Rashid Safdar indulged in.
The press conference was held on Sunday at Sagor-Runi Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity at Shegunbaghicha in the capital.
They also accused the MD of unlawfully dismissing about 50 officers and employees from the organisation only for their protest against his corruptions.
“The appointment process of Moududur Rashid Safdar was totally illegal. The ad for appointment was published before completing gazette which is unlawful. Besides, there is a age limit of 60 years for the MD post, but Moududur Rashid Safdar was appointed at 62,” said Shuhada Nasreen, a dismissed official of PDBF.
Shuhada Nasreen said that a case has been filed against the illegal appointment of the MD and the court delivered rule against the concerned individuals to submit answers about the issue.
“The MD widely embezzled the public funds of the PDBF. He exercises autocratic power ignoring all laws. He is involved in huge corruption which is swallowing this very important and successful government organisation,” Shuhada said.
Tanvin Ahmed and Mashiur Rahman among others dismissed officials of PDBF were present in the event. The officials said that they have published two white papers about the MD’s corruptions.
They said that about 13 lakh poor people across the country became beneficiary of the PDBF in the last two decades till 2020 before appointing Moududur Rashid Safdar as its MD.
Those beneficiary poor people successfully repaid their loans to the PDBF in time which also made the organisation vibrant. The officials said now those beneficiary families and about 4500 officers and employees of the PDBF are now under threat as the organisation itself is in risk of collapse for the limitless corruptions of the illegally appointed MD.
