5 killed in road crash in Rangpur

At least five people have died in a pile-up of an ambulance, a pickup and an autorickshaw at Taraganj in Rangpur.
The accident occurred in the Nengtichhera bridge area around 6:30 pm on Monday, said Anis Mia, an official at the local Fire Service and Civil Defence station.
The autorickshaw heading toward Syedpur collided with a truck and ambulance coming from the opposite side leaving four people dead on the spot, said police quoting witnesses, reports UNB.
He said four victims died at the scene and three were injured. One of the injured died on the way to hospital, reports bdnews24.com
Four of the deceased were identified as Sahir Uddin, 40, Khademul Islam 38, Azanur Rahman, 45 and Habibullah, 45, said Anis, a firefighter of Taraganj Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Two more people were injured in the accident and had been admitted to hospital.
