Robi Chowdhury still incomparable in stage shows

Popular singer Robi Chowdhury returned to Dhaka from Chattogram on Thursday. He performed in a stage show at Raozan. Local people of Raozan were impressed with Robi’s stage performance.
Robi Chowdhury is a popular name in the country’s music arena. In 1991, after releasing his debut solo album titled ‘Prem Dao,’ which was released under the banner of Solex, Robi Chowdhury got huge popularity among the music-lovers. Since then, he has released his 65 albums till date. Since 90s to present time, he is a popular name in the field of stage shows. He is also popular in television shows. He has already crossed three decades of his career in music.
December 17 is the birthday of this popular singer. He basically does not keep any schedule to render song on his birthday. He passes times with his family on this day.
While talking about to become today’s Robi Chowdhury and to celebrate his birthday, the singer told this correspondent, “My own devotion, willingness and loves from the music-lovers and fans, I have become today’s Robi Chowdhury. I am really grateful to Allah in this regard. I am cordially grateful to owner of Solex, Murad Bhai. During that time, I went to him with my own written and composed songs. Then he gave me the opportunity to release my debut album ‘Prem Dao.’ During that time, the album marketed Tk10 crore. I humbly remember them by whom I got trainings and lessons in music. Everybody prays for my mother, wife and children.”
Robi Chowdhury also said that he has some news songs on his hands now. He will release songs soon.
Robi Chowdhury first received training in music from Ahmed Kabir Azad in Chattogram. Later, he received training from founder of Sangeetayon, Abu Bakar Siddiqui. He completed graduation from Sangeetayon in classical music. Then after coming to Dhaka, he received two year’s training from Khondokar Nurul Alam.
Robi first lent his voice under composition of late Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul for playback song in Nadim Mahmud directed movie titled ‘Andolon,’ which was released on April 7 in 1995. Title of the song was: ‘Morechhi morechhi preme je porechhi.’ Bapparaz and Nishi were lip-synced with the song on the screen in the movie. He lastly worked as music director for Nargis Akhter directed movie ‘Putro Ekhon Paisawala.’
