TCB to procure 2.75 crore litres of soybean oil

The government has decided to buy 2.75 crore litres of Soybean oil from local suppliers for the state-owned Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) at Tk 184-186 per litre.
Apart from this, the government will also import of 30,000 tonnes of urea fertiliser from the UAE.
The Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase on Wednesday has given the approval of the proposals.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal presided over the virtual meeting.
Over Tk 509.34 crorewill be needed to buy 2.75 crore liters of soybean oil for the state-owned TCB.
Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division Syed Mahbub Khan gave details to the journalists after the meeting.
He said that approval has been given to
purchase 1.10 crore liter of soybean oil from City Edible Oil Limited for TCB under the Ministry of Commerce. The price per liter will be Tk 184.84. The total cost will be Tk 203,32,40,000.
Besides, 55 liters of soybean oil will be purchased from Sung Shing Edible Oil.
The price per liter soybean oil has been fixed at Tk 184.50 and it would be needed Tk 101,47,50,000, he said.
Syed Mahbub Khan further said that approval has also been given to buy 1.10 crore liters of soybean oil from Super Well Refinery Limited.
The government has fixed the price Tk 185.95 per litre, he said adding that a total of Tk 204,54,50,000 will be needed in this regard.
